PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance maintenancability of a Blade coater by certainly capturing mist even at a high speed range and depositing no mist on a coating liquid recovery part such as a mist capturing part, and a recovery method of a coating liquid. SOLUTION: The blade coater is provided with a blade disposed at a downstream side of a coating liquid feeder and scraping off excessive coating liquid fed onto a surface of a base material. A coating liquid recovery device 60 is scraped off liquid droplets by the blade and mist. The coating liquid recovery device 60 is provided with a coating liquid recovery chamber 60 partitioned to a liquid drop part recovery part 13 and a mist recovery part 18. The liquid droplets 15 are separated from the mist 14 by blocking a course of the liquid droplets in the coating liquid intruding into the coating liquid recovery chamber by a blocking means 36 and the separated mist detours a partitioning means including the blocking means to guide it to the mist part recovery part.
