PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance catalyst capable of advancing a CO shift reaction even at a relatively low temperature such as a room temperature, and an apparatus, in which the shift reaction is performed simply using the catalyst, and a gas converting method. SOLUTION: The CO shift reaction catalyst used for advancing the CO shift reaction expressed by the formula, CO+H2 O→CO2 +H2 contains lithium and is composed of a lithium transition metal composite oxide, in which each of the transition metals exists to have different valency. The CO shift reaction apparatus is constituted so as to contain the shift reaction catalyst. The gas converting method is constituted so that a gaseous mixture containing CO and H2 O is brought into contact with the CO shift reaction catalyst to advance the CO shift reaction to obtain CO2 and H2 . |
