<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forcibly break away a steering column from a car body regardless of the collisional energy in secondary collision. SOLUTION: In the collision of a vehicle, a wire 14 and a wire 22 are pulled by a pretensioner device 13. As a result, the tension is forcibly applied to a seat belt 11 in a seat belt device to properly restrain an occupant to a seat. A shirring plate 20 (column breakaway member) is drawn out from a breakaway capsule 9 to forcibly break away the steering column 1 from the car body, whereby the steering column 1 can be stably moved to a front part of the vehicle after breakaway.</p> |
