A liquid-permeable cover sheet (1, 201, 301) for an absorbent article such as a diaper (300), an incontinence protector, a sanitary towel or the like, which cover sheet comprises at least a first material layer (2, 202, 302) with a surface which essentially consists of polyethylene which has been treated with plasma or corona in order to obtain liquid permeability.
