Open-cell melamine resin foam (MF foam) in which the surface of the cellular structure is completely or partly coated with an ammonium salt. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a method for the production of this MF foam by coating, spraying or impregnating the foam with an aqueous solution of ammonium salt, optionally squeezing out excess liquid and drying the foam; (b) open-cell MF foam with a fire rating of Class A in the NT fire 004 test. |
