PURPOSE: A fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display is provided to manufacture high definition display such as improving response time, easy manufacture of a phase compensation film, and improving color-showing phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: In a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display including upper and lower boards(70,50) placed at regular distance and each having limited unit pixels, a liquid crystal layer(80) including a plurality of liquid crystal molecules(80a) inserted between the upper and lower boards, counter electrodes(53) formed at each unit pixel of the lower board, pixel electrodes(57) making almost liquid crystal molecules move within the unit pixel by generating a fringe field together with the counter electrodes, a horizontal aligning film(59) inserted between the lower board and the liquid crystal layer and having a predetermined rubbing shaft, a vertical aligning film(72) inserted between the upper board and the liquid crystal layer, a polarizer placed at the outer surface of the lower board and having a predetermined polarizing shaft, and a decomposer placed at the outer surface of the upper board and having a predetermined absorbing shaft, the fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display includes a transparent electrode(100) receiving the same voltage as the counter electrodes and covering the whole pixels at the inner surface of the upper board. |
