PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the directivity of an organic electroluminescent display. SOLUTION: Dielectric mirrors 12a to 12c, anode electrodes 14a to 14c and light-emitting device payers 16a to 16c are formed in each pixel on a base 10, independently of other pixels, and a cathode electrode 18 is formed over them, 10 constitute an optical resonator 100. The resonance wavelength of the optical resonator 100 is a wavelength near respective center wavelengths of light generated from the light-emitting device layers 16a to 16c, so that the light generated can be provided with sufficient directivity, with the directivity of the organic electroluminescent display capable of being enhanced.
