PURPOSE: To provide an optical information recording medium equipped with a substrate protective film so as to effectively suppress deformation (warpage) associated with an environmental moisture change. CONSTITUTION: The optical information recording medium is equipped with a transparent substrate 20, a thin film layer 40 formed on one surface of the transparent substrate, a thin film protective film 50 essentially consisting of a resin and formed on the thin film layer, and a substrate protective film 30 essentially consisting of the resin and formed on the other surface of the transparent substrate 20. The thin film layer 40 is a monolayer or a multilayer film 40 consisting of at least one layer of dielectric films 41 and 43, a recording film 42 and a reflective film 44. The humidity expansion coefficient of the substrate protective film 30 is larger than that of the thin film protective film 50.
