<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual storage capacity on-line which is larger than that of the storage medium, along with the same operability as the storage medium mounted on the devices. SOLUTION: A videotape medium 3 is capable of communicating with a server device 1 via a relay device 2 and the Internet in constitution. When the videotape medium 3 is inserted in a video deck 4, and as an example, when the record of a TV program is instructed, the videotape medium 3 obtains the output data from the video deck through recording operation; and the data is compressed and sent to the server device 1, and the data is stored in the user's library. When reproduction of the data recorded by the video deck is instructed, the appointed data is read from the library, and sent from the server device 1 to the videotape medium. In the videotape medium 3, the data sent from the library is extended and read through a video head of the video deck.</p> |
