SHADOW MASK FOR CATHODE-RAY TUBE EXCELLENT IN PRESS FORMING PROPERTY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shadow mask for cathode-ray tube excellent in the effectiveness in the press forming property as improvement of a conventional technique involving a problem in association with the press forming property of a part between an effective hole part where electron beam apertures are formed and a non-hole part provided at the peripheral edge of the effective hole part and free of apertures. SOLUTION: The shadow mask 1 for cathode-ray tube is configured with the effective hole part 2 where electron beam apertures are formed and a non- hole part 3 provided at the peripheral edge of the effective hole part 2 and free of apertures, wherein the non-hole part 3 has a half etching region 6 in which the metal content decreases gradually from the periphery of the non-hole region 3 toward its inside circumference, and the half etching region 6 is furnished with a plurality of half etching holes. It is preferable that the difference between the metal content in the neighbourhood of the inside circumference of the half etching region 6 and the metal content in the neighbourhood of the periphery of the effective hole part 2 is within 10%.
