PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce luminance difference in an EL lamp, composed of laminates of plural layers. SOLUTION: The laminated body F positioned on the forefront side is constituted by successively laminating a first transparent electrode 1, a first light- emitting layer 2, and a first insulation layer 3 on an upper surface of a transparent film layer (not shown). The laminate S positioned on the most back face side is similarly composed of a second transparent electrode 4, a second light- emitting layer 5, and a second insulation layer 6. A back plate 7 being a common electrode is formed on the upper surface of the second insulation layer 6. AC voltage is selectively impressed on this back plate, and the second transparent electrode 4 or the first transparent electrode, so that only the second light-emitting layer 5 can emit light or the second light-emitting layer and the first light-emitting layer 2 can simultaneously emit light. Since the back plate 7 is formed as the common electrode, voltage in the laminates is dispersed, and since withstand voltage is be lower going toward the front side, the insulation layer positioned on the front side can be thinned more than an insulation layer positioned on the back face side. Thus, the luminance difference in the respective laminates can be reduced.
