PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reproduction reliability of a disk driver compatible with a disk whose tracks have a wobble structure. SOLUTION: A PLL circuit receives a wobble synchronizing clock to reproduce data on a disk by utilizing a wobble signal (protection wobble signal) and the disk driver executes spindle control on the basis of a correlation (phase error) between the wobble synchronous clock and a reference frequency. Thus, the disk driver executes the spindle control synchronously with the wobble period independently of a position (zone) of a laser spot so as to attain locking of the disk reaching an object number of revolutions even when the laser spot resides in any disk radial position. That is, the disk driver can realize a high- speed locking.
