PURPOSE: A method and system for calculating a charge exactly using fingerprint information of a client is provided to pay a cost for a service automatically through the fingerprint information inputted when receiving the service for further payment by calculating a using time and the number of service connection times, thereby making the user calculate a cost collectively when the user goes out. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint input device(12) is provided for making a client input fingerprint information. A host computer(10) manages fingerprint information of a client inputted through the fingerprint input device(12) and calculates a cost for a service. The fingerprint input device(12) and the host computer(10) are connected thereto through a network. The host computer(10) comprises a control unit(11), a fingerprint characteristic point extracting module(13), a fingerprint characteristic point matching module(14), a database unit(15), and an output unit(16). The host computer(10) makes the point extracting module(13) extract a fingerprint characteristic point of a fingerprint image of a client inputted through the fingerprint input device(12). The extracted fingerprint characteristic point is stored in a fingerprint information database(15a), and a service using time and the number of service connection times of the client are checked and calculated in a cost information database unit(15b). When the client requests a payment, the calculated cost is output through the output unit(16).
