The WC, fitted with a tank containing a pump (20) driven by a motor (2) and a shredder (21) on its lower end, the tank being fed through an inlet (11), has a branch (25) on the outlet pipe (22) from the pump, connected by a tube (50) to a point below the inlet. The tank also has a deflector (12) opposite its inlet to direct incoming water and waste material towards the bottom of the tank for shredding and evacuation through an outlet. The tank also has inlets (14) with shutters (15) to receive water from adjacent sanitary installations such as a washbasin or shower.
