PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optical recording and an optical recorder in which a plurality of data groups can be recorded with one exposure in multiple as holograms in one region of an optical recording medium and fast recording is possible. SOLUTION: Signal light 1 holding a first data group by the intensity distribution 25 and a second data group by the polarization distribution 26 is made to irradiate a specified region of an optical recording medium together with referential light to perform multiple recording of the polarization distribution 26 and the intensity distribution 25 of the signal light as holograms. Thus, by recording a plurality of data groups at a time in the optical recording medium, significantly fast recording is realized compared to the conventional method.
