PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which makes it possible to display map information corresponding to position specification text information of a user-side terminal device as the user-side terminal device obtains position correspondence text information such as zip code, telephone number, and location information, etc. SOLUTION: As the user-side terminal device 700 obtains text information (position correspondence text information) consisting principally of characters and/or numbers, such as a telephone number, a location, and a zip code, made to correspond to a position on a map, a converting means converts the obtained position correspondence text information into display position specification information specifying a display position corresponding to the position correspondence text information. Further, map information corresponding to the converted display position specification information is retrieved from a map database, read out, and outputted to the user-side terminal device 703 as the generation source of the position correspondence text information.
