PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption in an integrated circuit for an imaging element. CONSTITUTION: Power consumption in a circuit block 2 is reduced, by causing the circuit block 2 to enter a standby state, during a vertical blanking period or a horizontal blanking period. The circuit block 2 performs generation and so on of a drive signal to an imaging device. Since the blanking periods are short, returning from the standby state to a normal operation needs to be performed quickly, in order to obtain standby time. Thus, a switch 6 is provided between a capacitor 4, which is provided for stabilizing voltage on the terminal of the circuit block 2, and the terminal of the circuit block 2, and a control section 8 turns off the switch 6 to isolate the capacitor 4 from the circuit block 2, when the circuit block 2 enters the standby state. Hence, fluctuations in storage quantity of the capacitor 4 during the standby state can be reduced and to shorten time for returning the storage quantity of the capacitor 4 to a storage quantity of the normal operation during the return to the normal operation, thereby carrying out returning at high speed.
