PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission line by-pass method for forming an inexpensive by-pass transmission line without providing any spare relay transmission lines, and for inhibiting band differentials among subscribers, and to provide a subscriber's line accommodation apparatus and a relay transmission line accommodation apparatus. SOLUTION: The transmission line by-pass method includes a step for selecting a specific relay transmission line 12a to be bypassed out of relay transmission lines 12a and 12b, a step for connecting the subscriber's line accommodation apparatus 10b connected to the subscriber's line accommodation apparatus 10a and the relay transmission line 12b that are connected to the specific relay transmission line 12a by the by-pass transmission line 13, and a step for transmitting and receiving first data to be transmitted and received between the subscriber's line accommodation apparatus 10a and the relay transmission line accommodation apparatus via the subscriber's line accommodation apparatus 10b and the relay transmission line 12b.
