PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily detect a home position of a carrier on which a magnetic head is mounted, at a low cost. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording/reproducing device 11 to execute at least either one of recording and reproduction of magnetic information to a magnetic recording medium by the magnetic head while the carrier 21 on which the magnetic head 20 is mounted is transferred is provided with the magnetic head and a home position mark 51 which can be detected by the magnetic head to a home position detector 50 to detect that the carrier reaches the home position.
