PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact part and a connector provided with the contact part capable of ensuring sufficient strength without increasing the weight of the connector and ensuring a sufficient contact surface without making the outer shape larger. SOLUTION: A cut out part 84 extending in the longitudinal direction of a contact part 71 and a first bending part 88 positioned near the longitudinal end of the cut out part 84 are provided on the contact part 71 of a plug side contact part 70 made of a metal plate and mounted to a connector plug 10. A part of an edge part of the cut out part 84 is projected to form a projected edge part 73 by bending the first bending part 88. The surface of the projected edge part 73 and the surface of an upper surface part 72 continuing to the surface of the projected edge part 73 are made flat.
