<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road traffic monitoring system capable of efficiently grasping the state including the flow of vehicles and the kinds of vehicles and acquiring short-period and long-period statistic data. SOLUTION: Roadside radio devices 1 are set in roadside positions corresponding to traffic lanes approaching an intersection, and also set in roadside positions corresponding to traffic lanes leaving the intersection, respectively. The approach-side roadside radio device 1 receives an identification code from the on-vehicle radio ID device 3 of a vehicle approaching the intersection, transmits it to a roadside traffic monitoring device 2, and the leaving-side roadside radio device 1 receives the identification code from the on-vehicle radio ID device 3 of the vehicle leaving the intersection and transmits it to the roadside traffic monitoring device 2. Accordingly, in the roadside traffic monitoring device 2, it can be grasped that from which road sides the vehicle, which is judged as the same one from the identification code, approached and left.</p> |
