PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost electric connector of simple constitution with a reduced number of parts. SOLUTION: This electric connector 1 or 20 includes a plug connector 10 or 30 having plural connection terminals 14 or 34, and having a lock engagement part 15 or 35 provided to be capable of protruding or retracting, and a socket connector 2 having plural connection terminals 4, and provided with lock holes 5 and 6 to be engaged with the lock engagement part 15 or 35 on the plug connector. When the plug connector is inserted into the socket connector, each connection terminal on the socket connector side contact the corresponding connection terminal on the plug connector side, so that electric connection is formed, while the lock engagement part on the plug connector is engaged with the lock hole in the socket connector. The lock holes 5 and 6 to be engaged with the lock engagement part on the plug connector are provided in an upper surface 3a and a side surface 3b of the socket connector 2 to compose the electric connector 1 or 20.
