PURPOSE: A photocell is provided to determine the gain of the photocell and reduce fixed pattern noise by including emitter having a ratio of a salicided area to a non-salicided area. CONSTITUTION: The first region is of the first polarity. The second region of the second polarity is adjacent to the first region. The third region has the first area and the second area that include salicide, having the first polarity and adjacent o the second region. The second area is disposed in the center of the third region. The ratio of the first area to the second area is 8:1.
