PURPOSE: A semiconductor quantum dot optical amplification module and an optical transmission system using the same are provided to planarize automatically a gain by using the semiconductor quantum dot amplification module having a broad gain band. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second wavelength division multiplexers(501,502) are installed at an input side and an output side. A plurality of semiconductor quantum dot optical amplification modules(5101,5102,...,501N;QDOA) are formed between the first and the second wavelength division multiplexers(501,502). An optical signal of a wide wavelength band is inputted into the first wavelength division multiplexer(501) and the received signal is amplified by the semiconductor quantum dot optical amplification modules(5101,5102,...,501N;QDOA). Namely, the optical signals are coupled by the first wavelength division multiplexer(501) and the coupled optical signals are divided into a plurality of wavelength signals by the second wavelength division multiplexer(502).
