PURPOSE: A brushless DC motor control apparatus is provided to simplify control procedures by eliminating dead time, while reducing costs and number of powers by sharing the power for driving the upper switching element. CONSTITUTION: A brushless DC motor control apparatus comprises a pulse width modulation signal generator(114) for generating a pulse width modulation signal in accordance with a user's operation; a speed sensor mounted to a brushless DC motor(106); a control unit(116) for receiving signals for sensing the position of a rotor from the brushless DC motor, signals from the speed sensor, and signals from the pulse width modulation signal generator, and generating a predetermined drive signal; and a gate drive unit(118) for driving switching elements of an inverter(104) in accordance with the drive signal output from the control unit.
