PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain programs which are selected out of a plurality of programs that are broadcast on many channels and retrieved from a program database corresponding to subscribers' taste, and to automatically make program reservations and records by the use of the above process. SOLUTION: Program taste information which is required to be recorded is transmitted from a program reservation unit 10 to a program retrieving unit 20, the program retrieving unit 20 retrieves and obtains target program information from a program information storage unit 30 on the basis of the program retrieving information fed from the program taste information, personal taste data used for retrieving the programs are updated and stored as a personal information database in the program retrieving unit 20, so that programs which meet most subscribes' taste can be automatically retrieved by the use of the personal data base.
