PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for network broadcasting transmission capable of executing broadcast replies to all broadcast addresses from an SMB(Server Message Block) file sharing protocol. SOLUTION: In a method for network broadcast reply, when executing the replies to transmitting addresses of files transmitted from a scanner, file names of the files including data for replying are specified and an instruction for image replies is instructed to the scanner from a terminal (S20). The scanner transmits image data read out from an SMB sharing folder to the specified broadcast addresses by using an application for SMB broadcast reply constantly existing on the terminal (S22) when the instruction is an instruction for image replies specifying files in the folder (to SMB in S21). When the instruction is an instruction for image replies specifying files in other folders except the SMB sharing folder (others in S21), the scanner transmits the data by a protocol corresponding to specified each address of the replies (S23).
