PURPOSE: To provide a microcomputer that performs delete/write of on-chip nonvolatile memories according to need, even in a system necessary for responding events occurring at intervals shorter than delete/write processing time, during the processing. CONSTITUTION: A delete and write control program for an electrically deletable and writable nonvolatile memory (13) is constituted by including a loop, e.g. for applying a high voltage pulse and verifying data, etc. If a program jumping to a subroutine of a user-designated address is programmed in this loop beforehand, the processing by a CPU 2 can temporarily be jumped to the subroutine of the user-designated address. Accordingly, the delete and write can be performed during execution of the program of the user for a system requiring confirmation of internal and external events every fixed period or a system with a learning function.
