PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL device for absorbing shocks from the outside, and which has long service life. SOLUTION: In the EL device 100, a light-emitting element forming base board 18 is formed, in such a way that a first electrode 12 is formed on a base board 10, a light-emitting element layer 16 is formed on the first electrode 12, and a second electrode 14 is formed on the light-emitting element layer 16. A sealing member 40 is put from the second electrode 14 side, so as to cover an upper part of the light-emitting element forming base board 18, and a columnar, spherical or sheet-like shock-absorbing member 20 is arranged in clearance 30 between the second electrode 14 and the sealing member 40. This shock-absorbing member 20 is desirably arranged in a light non-emitting region of the EL device, when it is formed of a hard material. |
