PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric transformer the thickness of which little increases even when the piezoelectric material is provided with a U-shaped continuity member as a component, and in addition, which can obtain a necessary electrical characteristics. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric transformer is provided with a piezoelectric element 1, a first input electrode 2 provided on the top face of the element 1, and a second input electrode 3, provided on the bottom face of the element 2. This transformer is also provided with the U-shaped continuity member 4, which is positioned to clamp the body section of the transformer composed of the element 1 and input electrodes 2 and 3. In the edge section of the top face of the element 1, a recessed section 1a is formed and the edge section 4a of the member 4, corresponding to the top face of the element 1, is housed in the recessed section 1a in a state where the section 4a is insulated from the first input electrode 2.
