PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device by which write output of laser light is surely set at a proper value. SOLUTION: The optical disk device 1 is provided with rotational driving mechanism on which an optical disk 2 is loaded and to rotate it with a plurality of stages of rotational speed and an optical head 3 capable of recording information by irradiating the laser light to the optical disk 2, test write is performed in the optical disk by changing output of the laser light in steps and the output of the laser light when the information is recorded in the optical disk 2 is determined. When the output of the laser light according to the rotational speed of the optical disk 2 is determined, the maximum output value of the laser light according to the rotational speed of the optical disk 2 and the minimum output value of the laser light larger than zero are first set respectively. Then, a change quantity of the output of the laser light when the output of the laser light is changed by the minimum unit is defined as a value obtained by dividing a difference value between the maximum output value of the laser light and the minimum output value of the laser light by a prescribed value and the test write is performed to the optical disk 2 based on the value. |
