SUBSTANCE: method for controlling system incorporating at least two computers 10, 20, shared disk drive 14, and disk-drive bus 15 interconnecting computers 10,20 and disk drive 14 includes following procedures: prior to initializing the disk first computer 10 using shared disk drive 14 checks if second computer 20 has sent message about changes made by this computer in shared disk drive 14; in response to message detected it erases data corresponding to areas changed in shared disk drive 14 from its buffer, executes disk task, and informs second computer 20 about data it has changed in disk drive 14. In this way upon initializing the disk first computer 10 using shared disk drive 14 releases the latter in case second computer 20 has indicated that it needs disk drive 14.
