The arrangement has a device (102) for dividing the signal into sub-band signals (104a,104b), a device (106a,106b) for investigating at least one sub-band signal for periodicity with an autocorrelation function to obtain raw rhythm information, whereby the peak of an autocorrelation function is associated with a delay, and a device (118a,118b) for processing the raw information to produce processed data with no ambiguities.
