PURPOSE: Provided is a steroid anti-inflammatory agent for the treatment of stomatitis, which has excellent pharmaceutical efficacy with minimizing the loss of drug. CONSTITUTION: A steroid anti-inflammatory agent for the treatment of stomatitis contains an effective drug selected from dipropionic acid, beclomethasone, 17-valeric acid betamethasone, 17,21-dipropionic acid betamethasone and triamcinolone; a diluent of hydroxypropyl cellulose; an antiseptic selected from paraoxybenzoic acid isopropyl, paraoxybenzoic acid methyl, sodium benzoic acid, sodium sorbic acid and dihydroacetic acid; ethanol; and water, wherein the steroid anti-inflammatory agent is a gel type preparation having the viscosity of 1,000 to 10,000 cps.
