A system and method (Fig.1) for providing services to users in vehicles based on radio broadcasts received by a vehicle's radio receiver (28). The system (10) includes a computer-based vehicle unit (24) located in a vehicle, a gateway (14) configured to wirelessly send and receive information to and from the vehicle unit (24), and a computer-based server (18, 20, 22) in communication with the gateway (14) over a network (12). The vehicle unit (24) includes a user interface component that presents the received content and radio broadcast and records user requests. The server (18, 20, 22) processes the requests and sends confirmation messages back to the unit (24). The vehicle unit (24) wirelessly receives a radio broadcast from a radio station (16), transmits user requests and vehicle information to the server (22) via the gateway (14), and receives content back from the server. |
