The grinding and polishing process involves fitting a grinding belt (1) laden with abrasive round the material to be ground, e.g. by a hooked fabric attachment. The belt is pressed by spring-loaded pressure rollers (2) against a drive roller (3), which is rotated by an electric motor (4) with a transmission, carrying the belt along with it.
