A gel depilatory composition obtainable by mixing (a) a keratin reducing compound, (b) a hydrophilic high molecular compound having an ionic group, (c) a crosslinking agent and (d) water and has a high effect on the removal of body hairs and is decreased in odor peculiar to chemicals.
