A method and device for virtual increasing of the rate of a pulsed output DDS is disclosed, comprising generation of a defined number (B) of discrete delay points on a delay line, whereby the generation of the B discrete delay points is carried out by a single variably adjustable delay element (2) with defined delay time ( tau 0) in a delay loop which contains an RS flip-flop in addition to the delay element.
