The invention relates to a method and a device for twisting at least two end s of thread in order to mutually connect the at least two threads, which metho d comprises the steps of: providing at least two ends of thread running substantially mutually parallel and in the same direction; holding the threa ds fixedly at a first position at a distance from the ends of thread; rotating the ends of thread on a rotation axis running substantially parallel to the ends of thread; and reducing the distance between the first position and the ends of thread in order to create a thread twist.
