<p>A power module (10) that houses components of a circuit for driving a three-phase motor. The power module (10) includes a molded shell (12). A number of leads (28U, 28V and 28W) are embedded within the body of the power shell (12) and extend from its exterior where they make electrical connection to exterior devices to a chamber within the molded shell (12) where they are connected to respective components of the circuit. The power module (10) includes capacitor leads (34a, 34b, 35a, 35b, 36a and 36b), which are embedded in the molded shell (12), for making direct connection to respective bus capacitors (18, 20 and 22), thereby allowing the capacitors (18, 20 and 22) to be directly assembled onto the power shell (12) and become part of the power module (10). The leads (28U, 28V and 28W) embedded within the molded shell (12) are arranged so that they pass over one another within the body of the molded shell (12). At least one of the leads (28U, 28V and 28W) has a portion within the chamber which acts as bridge to allow the passage of conductors (46).</p> |
