<p>A polarization-preserving optical fiber with a high pump-radiation absorption efficiency including a core (200), a primary cladding (210) surrounding the core (200), stress members (220) disposed within the primary cladding (210), and a secondary cladding (230) surrounding the core (200), primary cladding (210) and stress members (220). The stress members (220) and the primary cladding (210) have different thermal responses, thereby including birefringence within the fiber. The cladding and stress members cooperate to direct light, propagating through the fiber, into the core.</p> |
