The equipment for creating an underground bore has an extendable bore rod (3) and a bore crown at one end and a drive (5) at the other end for rotating and advancing the bore rod. The double-walled bore rod, equipped with a free cross-section for optical assessment of the bore hole process, is encased with radial spacing by an extendable control tube rod (11) under the influence of the drive which adjacent to the bore crown has a guide section for the bore rod. The radial distance between the central axis of the guide section and the outer surface of the control tube rod in the area of the guide section in a peripheral surface segment is greater than the radial distance in the other surface segment. In the area of the drive, the bore rod and the control tube rod are releasably coupled to one another.
