SUBSTANCE: method involves treating chloric solutions of noble metals with sodium nitrite in the process of obtaining rhodium ammonium-sodium salts, with more than 50% of sodium nitrite being reproduced; treating resultant gaseous mixture containing nitric oxide with sodium hydroxide in two-four sequentially connected absorbers. Prior to treatment with sodium hydroxide, gaseous mixture is treated with oxidizer such as air, oxygen, nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide.
