PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for desiliconizing and dephosphorizing molten iron by which reaching P concentration is reduced by using a converter type vessel and improving the reaction efficiency of desiliconization and dephosphorization and a flux used for desiliconizing and dephosphorizing can be saved. SOLUTION: In the method for desiliconizing and dephosphorizing the molten iron 16 using the converter type vessel 10 simultaneously performing desiliconizing treatment and dephosphorizing treatment of the molten iron 16 by charging the molten iron 16 into the converter type vessel 10, in a range of high P concentration in the molten iron 16 governing the supply of oxygen, the gaseous oxygen is blown onto the molten iron 16 from an oxygen-blown lance 13 arranged above the converter type vessel 10 to simultaneously perform the desiliconizing treatment and the dephosphorizing treatment. In a range of low P concentration not governing the supply of oxygen, only a solid oxygen agent is added into he molten iron 16 and the dephosphorizing treatment is further performed.
