PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume type hologram recording material, a recording medium and a volume hologram, in which a reaction type except for cationic polymerization is used during interference exposure and the polymerization reaction can be made to proceed without blocking oxygen. SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition for volume hologram recording contains a binder polymer, an anionic polymerization compound and a photo- anionic polymerization initiator which generates anions through by irradiation of light.
