<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a staircase doubling as a storage rack, which allows the user to stably and smoothly enter a space at an upper portion of a building, can be housed in a small installation area when it is not used as a staircase, and has a function of a storage rack. SOLUTION: The staircase 10 doubling as the storage rack consists of four- stage rectangular parallelepiped storage boxes 15 which are stacked on each other from a floor height of a corridor 14 to a floor height of a storage section 13. According to the staircase 10, guide members 17 for horizontally guiding the storage boxes 15 in the respective stages are set in a wall surface 16, and slide engaging members 18 arranged on side surfaces of the storage boxes in the respective stages are engaged with the guide members 17, to thereby support the storage boxes 15. In a storage mode, the storage boxes 15 in the respective stages are vertically stacked for use as the storage rack. In a staircase mode, the storage boxes 15 are slid along the guide members 17, and they are positioned like a staircase by a positioning means 19, whereby they function as a staircase arriving from the corridor 14 at the storage section 13 with top plates 20 of the respective storage boxes 17 serving as treadboards.</p> |
