PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode array structure for IPS-LCD which improves the rotational angle of liquid crystal molecules, canceling out the coloring phenomenon and increasing the aperture ratio. SOLUTION: The electrode array structure is equipped with a comb-like common electrode 28 having a plural number of teeth 28b, 28c and 28d extending in a primary longitudinal direction and a comb-like pixel electrode 30 having a plural number of teeth 30b and 30c extending in a secondary longitudinal direction. Each tooth of the pixel electrode is laid out between the teeth adjacent to the common electrode. The teeth 28b, 28c and 28d of the common electrode are formed in a rectangular shape, and the teeth 30b and 30c of the pixel electrode are in the form of trapezoids longitudinally linked and have a series of L-letter shape side walls.
