<p>A form is positioned or the foot is molded on its support (9), taking into account the anatomical characteristics. Form (23) and mold (14) are displaced relatively to compress the material forming it whilst assembling the different layers. Final form and mold position are used to determine the required thickness of the orthotic. <??>For the individual, anatomical characteristics of the lower face of the foot are determined. A positive form or last (23) is selected or made accordingly. Orthotic thickness is determined as a function of the anatomy. The mold (14) used, has a standard formed base for the shoe which will include the orthotic, and a sidewall (16). At least two layers of synthetic thermoplastic or thermoset (3) are inserted, their thickness exceeding that of the final orthotic.
