PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge in which such a phenomenon as ink oozes out unexpextedly from an ink cartridge due to variation of atmospheric pressure on the inside and outside of the ink cartridge can be prevented effectively. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge comprises an ink tank for preserving ink, an ink opening for ink drop, and a variable resilient body wherein an opening is made at the upper end part of the ink tank. The variable resilient body is provided at a position in the ink tank where the opening is made. The variable resilient body is provided, on the outer wall thereof, with a freely shrinkable folding face and, at an upper part thereof, with an opening communicating with the outside. Furthermore, a cartridge cap is provided on the upper surface of the ink cartridge, and an ink regulation chamber is formed in the ink tank within the cartridge cap, and an air supplementing part is formed to extend downward from the upper end of the ink tank. A vent having one end communicating with the ink regulation chamber and the other end communicating with the ink tank is formed in the air supplementing part. |
