PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refrigerator in which the temperature band of a temperature switching chamber is switched automatically from freezing to refrigeration upon elapsing a specified time or at a specified date. SOLUTION: A switching chamber damper 30 is subjected to open/close control by a switching chamber temperature detecting means 54 provided with a switching chamber temperature sensor 53 located in a temperature switching chamber 6 and the flow rate of chill is controlled to keep the temperature of the temperature switching chamber 6 at about -18 deg.C. When beer is cooled during a person is taking a bath and the person wants to drink well cooled beer after taking a bath, beer is placed in the temperature switching chamber 6 and the alteration switch 51 in an operating/indicating unit 59 on the refrigeration chamber door 10 is operated. When the timer in a microcomputer 50 measures a specified time elapsed after a time set by the alteration switch 51, the microcomputer 50 controls the switching chamber damper 30 to alter the temperature band of the temperature switching chamber 6 from freezing to refrigeration (about +5 deg.C).
